Publication Design
Background
This publication explores luxury winter fashion trends for the 2024 season. The purpose of this project served as a personal challenge to break away from conventional editorial grid structures. Through research of contemporary fashion magazines, I identified key design trends such as overlapping typography and imagery, cohesive color application, and impactful headline copywriting.
Design
Through a combination of gradients, illustration, and photography, I created soft mannequins to focus on the main aspect of the magazine, the clothing. For the typography, I selected a serif font that feels elegant and paired it with a sans-serif that feels modern. The muted blue color scheme comes from the winter season and the wave design is inspired by rolling waves of snow. A star is a recurring design element and is meant to symbolize beauty and elegance.
Digital Cover
If adapted for digital, I envisioned the publication name appearing in sync with a loading indicator, followed by supporting graphics smoothly sliding into place.
For the publication name, I drew inspiration from the winter season and designed a soft gradient to complement its reveal.
